Shooting Payson family photos in monsoon season is always a gamble. My friend and I were watching the radar closely and sent Marco Polos back and forth while she curled her hair, wondering if we were going to be able to actually shoot that evening.
Thankfully the rain lifted in town and once we actually got to where we were shooting we found it had barely even sprinkled there. We were left though with beautiful clouds, a slightly smokey haze (from local wildfires and the CA fires), and finished off the night with a beautiful AZ sunset!
I had no idea when I had them stand by the berry covered juniper tree that picking berries and throwing them at each other was a family “tradition” on their walks. They immediately went straight into action and it was fun snapping some shots of them just having fun together!
I am so glad these two sisters have each other! They’ve been through a lot this year and we all got a little emotional snapping some sister shots. I legitimately cried while editing these shots of them. I know their Mom was there hugging them tight.
Trying to capture little things that the kids do, but may not be doing by the next time family photos come around, is tricky but so worth it during sessions! This sweet boy wraps his arm around his Mom’s arm when she holds him and it’s just darling. These babies grow and change so fast, having these little moments saved for the future is such a treasure!
It is always so fun to work to get some shots of Mom and Dad as Sweethearts while the kids play and watch. These two are pros and I always love getting to photograph them. The kids chowed down on some snacks while these two got all extra cute and lovey!
This is one of my dream spots for a house. Right here on top of this hill with this view and the cactus around me. I’d be in heaven!
Seriously…the way they look at each other is adorable. I love it so much!
We always sneak in a few solo shots as wekk. As a business owner, getting shots of yourself can be hard! So we take the chance when it comes up. Isn’t she a beauty?! And for those that don’t know her, that beauty is inside and out!
Can one ever get too much of a Southwestern sunset?! I don’t think I’ll ever ever get tired of them.
