You are awesome! You’ve worked through a lot of data and ideas to get through to what you value and what you want to focus on. You’ve got your SWOT Analysis, Values & Goals, and Financial Analysis. It’s almost time to put them all together.
I have one last final baby assignment for you. A business plan doesn’t help much if it just sits on your hard drive and never is reviewed.
Assignment 1: Print a hard copy of it for your business folder or file (where your business license and any official paperwork lives is a great place).
Assignment 2: Schedule 4 dates in the year (once a quarter) to do a review. How are you doing on your goals? Are you pursuing things that align with your business values or are you getting off course? What went well this quarter? What can you step up next quarter? What is coming up that you need to prepare for? All good questions to look over when you do your Quarterly review!
You can take yourself out for a lunch date, schedule an overnight getaway, meet up with your business besties, or do a dinner meeting with your business partner or spouse! Having someone to bounce ideas off and help you stick to your goals and guidelines you set up in your business plan can be invaluable!
Ok…NOW you’re ready to assemble your plan!
I’ve created a Google Doc for you with a Business Plan all ready to move your homework you’ve done the last three weeks into the business plan. There are a few extra minor sections to fill out, but those can be done as you go!
And there you have it!! Don’t forget to pencil in times on your calendar to review this quarterly to make sure you’re on track, and then update it every year!
