The Bluff

We’ve looked at a number of different maps and can’t find a name for this place, so we call it The Bluff, and it is one of our all time favorite locations for family time, date night, and photo sessions. With the red granite rocks, the views of the canyons below, and the oak trees, this spot holds a lot of versatility for photos.

Information about The Bluff:

• Nearest town: Payson, AZ
  • While I do love sharing locations with everyone, there are a few I keep “secret” for my own clients. This exact location is one I only give out to paying clients. Want a session here? Shoot me a message!
  • The Bluff is down a dirt road with multiple creek crossings. We can make it here in a 4 door sedan Ford Focus, 4 wheel drive or high clearance is not necessary most of the year (during snow or after heavy rains might be an exception).
• This location has closed the past few summers when the forest closed for fire danger. It may not be available in June if we’ve had a dry winter.
• The best time of day for this location is roughly 2 hours before sunset. Morning sessions will likely not be able to have the valley views.
• It is about a 5-8 minute walk/hike from the parking area to the edge of the bluff with the valley views. It can be done in high heels carefully, but I recommend bringing a shoe change if you want heels in your photos.
