Donovan and Annabella’s Fall Wedding at Cabins on Strawberry Hill was so sweet and full of personal touches. I loved getting to meet their friends and family, work with amazing friendors, and have a chance to see some Fall leaves in Strawberry.
Bella’s dress was jaw-droppingly amazing. I loved how it swayed in the breeze!
And check out these custom Vans!! The embroider on them was such a pretty touch. The shoes are a throwback to Donovan and Bella’s prom days…can’t wait to show you that photo!
Before their own First Look, Bella had a first look with her dad, and Donovan had a first look with his mom. It was so sweet!
Then it was their turn! With Donovan situated in the forest, we brought Bella up and got them all in place so they could have their First Look together before exchanging private vows.
The timeline had gotten a little behind, but even without the full block of portrait time we got so many gorgeous shots of these two in the sliver of the day when the sun was sneaking through the clouds.
After getting back down to the Cabins Row, we were able to snap some full Wedding Party photos before everyone went into hiding before the ceremony. This crew were so good to Donovan and Bella all day!
The new ceremony space at The Cabins on Strawberry Hill really is amazing. Big enough for a crowd, but designed to feel intimate and personal at the same time. And the view of the maples turning red on the far hill is just so pretty! The perfect backdrop for a ceremony.
No two mugs were alike! There were mugs with names, mugs with characters, woodsy mugs, colorful mugs, cute mugs, quirky mugs, etc. Everyone had a great time going through all the mugs and picking one to keep and to have their coffee, tea, cocoa, or cider in.
Let me tell you…taking pictures of the grazing tables and NOT sneaking bites was so hard! These are some of my favorite cocktail hour treats. I was excited when, after sunset portraits, there was still a little bit left to snack on before the Grand Entrance.
The sun was well behind clouds for sunset portraits, but we played in the creamy filtered light anyway! Since we did photos up in the forest earlier in the day we opted for photos in the ceremony space with a view of the mountains.
Here’s the promised throwback to prom! Donovan and Annabella have a picture of them at prom looking at their cool shoes and wanted to recreate that photo with their wedding shoes. So fun!
I just love the ramada so much! You could completely forgo any decorations and it still makes a reception look extra gorgeous and cozy. The table decor was the perfect touch to the reception space and the candles made it feel and look warmer than it was (thankfully not frigid, but it definitely got chilly when the sun went down).
And then it was time to get the party started!
So simple, so elegant, so fun! And SO YUM! It was a hit in every possible way!
Donovan was excited to get to the cake cutting and rocked out to “Pour Some Sugar on Me” while they cut the cake. It was so fun to watch!
Right at the end of our photography coverage the rain started dumping! There was a scramble to save the cake and cupcakes, move the DJ table under the ramada, get leftover food brought in, and to clear a few tables out for a quick dance floor. That didn’t stop the dancing at all though!
They just kept right on having fun! While I was getting my gear packed away safe from the rain, the white umbrellas appeared and the dancing in the rain continued, even with the new dry dance floor under the ramada. Such a fun and sweet way to end the photography party of the day. I couldn’t help but grab some last photos as we headed out.
Donovan and Bella, it was an absolute delight to get to work with you through this whole season. You have a quiet and strong chemistry that is rock solid. We loved getting to meet your loved ones and watch them all dote on you both. It was a beautiful day from start to finish. Love you both!!
