When crazy rain moved into the state, Meghan and Julio shifted their wedding plans from a mountain elopement to a beautiful Lost Dutchman State Park wedding ceremony with easier access in case the rain came. And we did get sprinkled on, but the main rain held off.

We had rain, butterflies, quail, and rainbows all show up for them…so I’d say this marriage is full of sorts of good luck.

While Meghan finished her preparations at the Air BnB with her family, I had a chance to visit with Julio’s family, photograph their rings a bit, and to take in the vista. It was such a beautiful morning!

Apparently Julio helped his brother in law put on his boutonnière at his wedding, so they had him return the favor.

Meghan was escorted up the desert aisle by her mother and grandmother, and it was absolutely darling.

Between the morning hours and the threatening rain clouds, we were able to have the iconic gate all to ourselves for their official portraits! Meghan is a fabulous photographer and came already knowing how to knock out killer poses. It was so fun to work with both of them again. We of course had to start with the veil shots before moving to their custom hats.

(I think this next shot is my favorite one of the day!)

Then it was time to lose the veil and pull out the hats! I love the different vibes of each look!

Then Meghan and Julio had a spot picked out where they had done maternity photos. Any time there’s a chance to add more meaning into a photo, I’ll take it! I hope they come back here periodically through the years so they can see how they grow as a family through the years.

Meghan and Julio, it was an absolute delight to be with you for your wedding. Your families are so sweet and I loved seeing them there supporting and loving you. Your care for each other is evident in every look you share and how you lift each other up. And Leon is so handsome! What a lucky fellow to have parents like the two of you who are adding goodness into the world! Love you!
