Paul and Jazmin’s fall wedding at the Cabins on Strawberry Hill wasn’t about rigid timelines or performances, but about being surrounded by the people who shaped their lives. Everything ran smooth, the vibe was chill and calm, and the light was amazing. You could hear laughter drifting through the trees as everyone soaked in the time together. It really was the perfect autumn day for a beautiful wedding!
Paul and Jazmin chose a minimal approach with their details. They didn’t have a printed invitation suite or a long list of styled items, just the few pieces that felt most true to them. They mentioned early on that they were worried it wouldn’t feel like enough for photos, but it actually gave us the chance to slow down and be intentional. Instead of photographing a big group of items, we focused on the few pieces that told their story best.

I loved getting the chance to work with Deanna from Arizona Wildflowers and Gifts again. Her florals are always exquisite!

The morning stayed quiet and easy. While Jazmin got ready in one of the cozy A-frame cabins with her bridesmaids and her mom, Paul was nearby with his groomsmen finishing up his own details. They each had their own calm start to the day, which fit them perfectly and set the tone for everything that followed.

One of my favorite parts was when she copied her vows from her phone into the book their officiant would use during the ceremony. It was such a simple task, but it felt symbolic of the day itself: personal, unhurried, and full of meaning. Her mom helped with her dress, her bridesmaids added the finishing touches, and soon it was time to head to the First Look tucked just outside the cabins.

It’s always so sweet to see the whole look come together and the final touches go on. Nerves always go up, but in such beautiful and sweet ways.

Over in another cabin, Paul was getting ready with his groomsmen. The morning felt relaxed and easygoing, with plenty of jokes and quiet focus as they helped each other with ties and jackets. His details were simple but classic, and the whole space had that calm energy that comes from being surrounded by good friends who know how to keep things light before a big moment.

Once they were both ready, we headed outside for their first look among the pines. The cabins made the perfect backdrop for that moment, a mix of rustic charm, warm fall color, and the pines softening all sound. It was quiet, just the two of them, and you could see the nerves fade the second they saw each other.

We of course had to grab a few quick photos of the two of them before we moved over for group photos!

I don’t always include any of the family photos in my blog posts, but these were so sweet, I had to drop a few in. I loved seeing the pride in the faces of these men and women as they hugged their sweet kids. And Jazmin’s dad was even proudly sporting his DAD lapel pin, I loved it so much!

You can never go wrong with a mom hug photo from your wedding. It’s one of my treasures from my wedding, so I make sure all my couples go home with that treasure for their future.
Once family photos were done we grabbed some wedding party photos. We of course started with the iconic cabins before moving over to some more forested shots.

I loved so much that they wanted their officiant friend in some of their wedding party photos. She did such an amazing job and it was a beautiful way to honor her relationship with them and her role in the day.

Guests gathered for a ceremony that felt both relaxed and deeply personal. The floral design brought in just the right amount of color against the forest backdrop, and the mountain light filtered through the trees in that golden way it only does in fall. Kids played quietly in the back rows, friends smiled through tears, and every part of it felt like them.
It was simple, heartfelt, and full of meaning, with a few well-timed finance jokes from their officiant that had everyone laughing. She reminded Paul, who works in business services and analytics, that Jazmin might just be his greatest investment yet, and it couldn’t have been more fitting.

I loved watching Paul work with the moving sun to make sure he could always see Jazmin’s face clearly. With the sun behind her, she just shone!

I love watching kids during ceremonies. The girls were enthralled by it all, and this little dude was just ready to get to the cocktail hour snacks.

Their ceremony was full of light, laughter, and a few happy tears before everyone made their way to cocktail hour to start the evening.
After the ceremony, Paul and Jazmin headed straight into cocktail hour to spend time with their guests. It’s not something every couple chooses to do, but it fit them perfectly. The whole evening had a laid-back, conversational feel, with the BEST guitar music playing softly in the background, friends gathered around the fire, and everyone lingering to enjoy the cool mountain air.

Cocktail hour was spent getting photos of the guests with Paul and Jazmin, capturing the ambiance, photographing the beautiful details they had curated for their decor, photographing the golden light hitting the venue, and soaking in the joy!

As cocktail hour wrapped up, we slipped away for a few minutes of sunset photos in the forest. The light was soft and golden through the trees, and even though we didn’t stay out long, it was enough to capture that quiet, peaceful feeling that matched their day so well.

After a few minutes of portraits, they were ready to head back and rejoin their guests. The evening picked up right where they left off, with GOOD food, laughter, and that cozy mountain glow settling in under the string lights.
As the sun went down the celebration settled into a relaxed rhythm under the ramada lights. Guests gathered for dinner, laughter carried across the tables, and stories started to unfold. Instead of a packed timeline the evening moved naturally from heartfelt toasts to quiet, meaningful moments with family, then opening up the dance floor.

The toasts were a mix of laughter, stories, and a few surprises (as there always are with open mic toasts). Friends, coworkers, and family each took turns sharing memories, praise, and encouragement. Every word reflected how deeply Paul and Jazmin are loved and respected, and honored the good that they are putting into the world.

Rather than a traditional bouquet toss, Jazmin explained that she wanted to do something more fitting. Most of her friends present were already married and some with kids and kids on the way, so instead of tossing her bouquet she dedicated it so sweetly to her mother. It was beautiful and touching.

This was followed by Jazmin’s dance with her dad. I love love love watching these parent dances. You could see joy written on every inch of dad’s face, and really his whole being.

For desserts, Jazmin and Paul opted away from traditional cake and they instead went with cheesecake bites, hot apple cobbler, and vanilla ice cream. It was fabulous!!

Finally it was time to open up the party! We started with a full group photo and jumped straight into dancing (but back under the ramada, closer to the heaters, of course).

As the evening carried on, I wrapped up my time with one last round of photos under the string lights. Guests were laughing, music played softly through the trees, and the fire kept everyone warm against the cool mountain air. It was the perfect note to end on for me—a relaxed, genuine celebration in such a beautiful setting.

Paul and Jazmin, what a beautiful day to start this new chapter of life together. From the fall colors to the calm, joyful pace of the day, everything reflected who you are. I hope as you look back on these photos, you’re reminded of how loved and supported you are by everyone who gathered to celebrate with you.
