It’s not often that I get to do a Cabins on Strawberry Hill Mini Wedding, but I love when I do! The couples are always SO sweet and so amazing to work with. Addison and Samantha’s wedding was by no means mini…it was full of family, love, celebration, and fun.
What makes a wedding a mini wedding? That’s just my name for when a couple books a partial day instead of the full wedding package. I get to be there at the core of the day and it’s always so packed with emotion.
I was able to catch the tail end of the getting ready and set up for the day before things really took off running. Addison, Samantha, and their friends/family put the decor together and I loved the touches of the rocks and the twisted branches on the tables. I may have also wiped up some drool over that succulent bowl at the guest table!!
Many think that the idea of a First Look is to capture the moment the groom sees the bride for the first time. For some, that’s the case and it’s always fun! For Addison and Samantha it was a moment to just be together, to let their emotions run, and to have that time to get grounded before the ceremony, as they’d already seen each other in their wedding clothes prior to the ceremony. It was emotion packed, beautiful, and incredibly sweet!
We decided to turn the First Look around a bit and have Addison be the one to walk around the corner towards Samantha since during the ceremony she’d be walking towards him. It ended up being the perfect decision!!
While they went for more quiet moments together the guests started to file in and find their seats. You really couldn’t have asked for better weather for a wedding!
This might be the one part of the day that was truly mini! This ceremony holds the record for the shortest ceremony I’ve photographed yet. It took us all a bit by surprise, but it truly cut down to the heart of the matter…these two amazing humans and their love.
This poor little guy just wanted to be with his beautiful momma (the Matron of Honor)!
This wedding party was all in and I loved it!!
Oh those sister hugs, you just can’t beat them. I loved seeing their bond all day!
Dinner was catered by Into the Fire Pizza & Catering and it was superb!! I loved watching them work as a team and the food was PHENOMENAL!!
They even boxed up the leftovers and gave them to Addison and Sam in the cutest pizza box!
After they ate and while everyone else finished up dinner we sneaked off to the forest for some quick Just Married portraits. These two knocked it out of the park!!
And then it was time to get the guests gathered back in and the party rolling!
The toasts were all impromptu and open mic style. Sam’s adorable nephews ended up being the first and last ones on the microphone, and it was the perfect bookend to all the sweet well wishes, funny stories, wisdom shared, kid-friendlier word swaps, and tributes given.
And then it was cake time. YUM!!!!!
Addison and Sam, I loved every minute there with you! You truly do have Home in your eyes when you look at each other and it’s beautiful! Thank you for inviting me into such a special day for you and your family (because it was all one big family there, and I loved it!).
