So many times we talk about why wedding details should matter to the bride and groom. Did you know that these photos of the wedding details for vendors and creatives are incredibly important as well?
When it comes to your wedding, you’re going to put a lot of time and energy into choosing your vendors and creatives that are going to help bring your wedding vision to life. Whether you are hiring a whole professional team or you and your family are DIYing the entire wedding, there is A LOT of work that is going to be put into your wedding.
I take my job as the side kick very seriously. That means I’m capturing moments you don’t get to see live so you can have those preserved for later. I’m capturing details for you and your children and grandchildren to be able to look back on. I’m capturing those details to show your full wedding story. BUT! I am also capturing them to celebrate, honor, and serve those who have put their talent, skills, love, time, and energy into bringing your wedding to life.
There are many creatives and wedding vendors who often never get to see a photo of their work at the weddings. In this incredibly visual age, getting photos of their finished work for their websites, their social media, and their portfolio can be hard!
When I’m photographing bridal details with the dress, shoes, and veil I have both the bride and the bridal boutique in mind.
As I’m photographing the cake I always have the loved ones that couldn’t come and the cake baker in mind.
When I’m photographing the invitation suite with the jewelry I have future children and the stationer in mind.
As I photograph the bouquet at the venue, I have the bride’s sister who couldn’t attend as well as the florist and venue in mind.
When I photograph the ceremony and reception decor I have the family and the creatives in mind.
I carry everyone on my shoulders as I’m looking at the details and how I can photograph them in a way that celebrates the couple, inspires the future generations, and honors the creatives.
I don’t always get to meet each vendor as they bring or setup their contributions to the weddings we both are working at. When I do though, I love trying to grab some behind the scenes shots for them to show them in their element and doing their thing.
I had the opportunity to work on a styled shoot a few years back with Ashlee Baird of “Flowers by Ashlee“. She poured everything into this styled shoot and I was blown away watching her bring loose florals and transform them into all the amazing floral designs you see throughout this blog post. I couldn’t help but get some behind the scenes! I didn’t realize it would mean as much as it did. This was the start of learning just how much those meant and working to try and do this for the vendors I have the chance of serving.
“I was so excited to get the opportunity to work with Marquette because I followed her on Instagram and already knew I loved her style. I felt like we were already good friends when we met in person because of how personable she was. I loved that she was one of the few photographers that got ‘behind the scenes’ shots of setting up the event. It really was a blast working with her and I would love to do it again and again!”
