Brian and Catharine are preparing for their beautiful wedding in Mexico, and they decided to come up north from the Phoenix valley for their Rim Country Engagement Session. With the fabulous Air BnB’s, cabin rentals, and boutique hotels we have here, it’s an amazing place for a getaway weekend!
We started with their dressy outfit at what I like to call the “mini Rim”. This place is perfect if you want the look of the Mogollon Rim but don’t want to add 45 minutes to an hour of driving time to get to the Rim. Our original spot was already in use by other people so we walked up the ridge a little to this pretty little overlook area. I just can’t ever get over the views we get here!
The theme for sessions this year seems to be “windy”…but I sure do love the fun it adds in with flowing dresses!! Brian and Catharine were so patient as we worked to find the angles that worked best with the light and the wind. Sometimes the wind comes from an angle that works perfectly with the position of the sun, and sometimes it takes some extra thinking through logistics to get the angle of the sun and the angle of the wind to work together to create magic for a session. This time it was the latter, but they worked with me to make these images pop!
Rim Country Engagement Session: Pine Trailhead
For the second location I got to meet Brian and Catharine’s two fur babies. They were so well behaved even when the elk walked nearby!
The sun sets behind a taller peak near Pine about 25 minutes before actual sunset for our latitude. This gives the whole area the most beautiful glow and makes the greens so yummy and skin tones so creamy!
As a throw to their Mexico wedding, Brian and Catharine brought their party glasses and margaritas! It was a fun prop to play with and include in their gallery!
Congratulations Brian and Catharine! I can’t wait to see photos of your Mexico wedding! It’s going to be a fabulous and beautiful party for sure!
